The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly traded First-team All-Pro guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Wednesday (March 5) morning.

"Sources: The #Bears are expected to trade for #Chiefs All-Pro G Joe Thuney, as the Chicago continues to load up on the offensive line. KC gets a bit younger, plus frees up some money to use elsewhere," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

"The #Chiefs love Joe Thuney. But he's likely getting an extension, as he enters the final year of his deal set to turn 33. The #Chiefs have the highest-paid G and C and they can't pay everyone. They turn their attention to free agency. Meanwhile, the #Bears solidify their OL," Rapoport added in a separate post featuring his report on Good Morning Football.

The Bears' reported acquisition of Thuney came hours after trading for former Pro Bowl guard Jonah Jackson on Tuesday (March 4), already addressing one of its biggest needs early in the offseason. Chicago fielded one of the NFL's worst offensive lines in 2024, with quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, getting sacked 68 times during his rookie season, the most in the NFL.
