Have you dreamed of a fairytale wedding your whole life? Did you ever imagine a life inside a glamorous palace, wearing only ballgowns and sparkling tiaras? If that sounds like you, then you might just be in luck for your big day. You can actually get married at Kensington Palace. Yes, that Kensington Palace. You know the one. It's where Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle live. It doesn't get much more royal than that.
According to Vogue, there are three spots on the Kensington Palace grounds that can be rented out for weddings. The East Front Gardens, which can fit 400 guests, the Sunken Gardens, which fits 80 guests, and the Orangery Gardens, which fits up to 1,000 guests. The photo below depicts the lovely Sunken Garden. It sure looks like a lovely spot for an intimate wedding, doesn't it?
While the reception is certainly the most entertaining part of any wedding, there's actually only one spot for the official wedding ceremony to be held at Kensington Palace. The Orangery is that special, one-of-a-kind spot. It's the only area that is licensed for civil and partnership ceremonies on the palace grounds, so, if you actually want to say your "I Do's" at the palace- as opposed to just hosting the reception there - this is where you have to hold your vows. Here's a shot of The Orangery:
Nicky Hilton married her now-husband at The Orangery back in 2015. According to Page Six, "guests were ushered into the gardens for cocktails while Hilton and Rothschild posed with their wedding party for pictures, followed by a dinner in a magnificent white tent on the lawn of the palace gardens."
The one caveat to having your wedding celebrations at Kensington Palace is that you must use one of the royal family's preapproved vendors. Their list includes 13 caterers, six florists, and two pyrotechnics. By the looks of the last two royal weddings, the royals know to plan the perfect ceremony.
