The LGBT community is none too thrilled with Ellen DeGeneres after she defended Kevin Hart on her show Friday and even advocated for him to host the Oscars despite his homophobic tweets. "Ellen giving homophobes the ability to say 'but Ellen said it’s okay' is a massive betrayal," one Twitter user wrote. Another critic responded to Ellen's tweet that she believes in "forgiveness [and] second chances" by replying, "I also believe that forgiveness requires an actual apology. Not 'I’m sorry people are so sensitive'... He indignantly refused because he felt his moment was being tainted." Others continued to take issue with Hart for continuing to hold back on a full-throated apology. "If you’re not homophobic anymore, you shouldn’t mind apologizing for your past homophobia again and again and again," yet another Twitter user wrote. "I don’t want to hear a hostile retelling of how we didn’t hear your meager apology the first time."
