2 College Football Fans To Camp On Billboard For Nearly 2 Weeks

On December 27, four fans--one apiece from national college football semifinalists Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma--will begin living in tents atop a 45-foot billboard in San Jose. When the field is winnowed to two teams on December 29, the remaining two fans will remain atop the billboard until after the January 7 college football championship game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. They'll watch that game on a 75-inch television set built into the billboard by ESPN, which will provide the campers with meals and other amenities. (Bathrooms and showers are available off premises.) “I’ll be sleeping on a one-inch foam pad, but I don’t care,” Oklahoma fan Ruben Hunter tells The Washington Post. “The national championship will be there forever. I can fix my back later.”
